How USDG payouts work

Stakes enter a six-runner pool. When a race settles, 10% of total bets goes to the house and 90% becomes the prize pool. A 100 USDG bet contributes 90 USDG after a 10 USDG fee. Winning tickets divide the prize pool in proportion to their stakes on the winning fly. Returns include stake, are already net of the fee, and may be below 1×. Estimates change as bets arrive; final rates lock at betting close. Practice odds do not apply to USDG. A losing ticket pays zero. Gas is paid in ETH.

Cancelled races, or races left unsettled for 24 hours after betting closes, allow full refunds with no house fee. If nobody backed the winner, all stakes are refundable with no fee. An operator submits the race result; this is not a trustless result proof.

Fly profiles show recent shared practice races. They are not verified on-chain racing records.

HOW TO PLAY

Pick your fly. Follow the race.

  1. Choose one of the six flies. They steer within 80° of the forward track direction and can stop or fail to finish.
  2. Betting opens for five minutes before each race. Tap PLACE BET, choose your play-point stake, then confirm. You can place one bet per race. Green particles show the shared virtual food-scent plume.
  3. Auto alternates the full map and a fly camera every five seconds. Close shots follow from behind in current race order: 1st through 6th, then repeat. The fly occupying each rank is chosen when the camera switches. Each race opens on the full map for the first five seconds. Tap a fly card to hold its close-up. Choose Auto to resume the broadcast, or Full track to orbit the racecourse. Camera changes do not change your ticket.
  4. Races start automatically when betting closes. The first fly to complete a full forward lap and cross the finish line wins. There is no time limit. The next five-minute betting window opens after the finish. Everyone watches the same race, even after refreshing.

Practice pools start empty and contain only confirmed player bets. A 10% house fee is deducted before winning tickets divide the remaining pool. Empty pools have no quoted rate; equally backed flies have equal rates. If nobody backed the winner, all stakes are refunded with no fee. These are not live USDG odds or predicted win probabilities. Your bet is fixed when confirmed; rates stay estimated until betting closes. Play points and recent bets are saved for this browser with a session cookie.

Race wagering is not connected yet. Advertising deposits have a separate checkout and are available only when marked open. Every payment or withdrawal requires your wallet confirmation.

MODEL & PROVENANCE

What drives the flies?

Neuron integration, firing dynamics, sensory inputs, and the mapping to movement are game-model assumptions. This is not a validated reproduction of biological behavior in a complete fruit-fly brain. The track, grass, rails, stands, starting gates, and flies are all 3D geometry built in code. Each fly has six articulated legs, with no background photographs or fly sprites. Fly size and running speed are scaled for the game.

Each fly has its own position, heading and velocity. The neural model receives local left/right proximity, odor concentration and incoming-wind signals; descending neurons drive propulsion and the DNa02 pair drives steering. There is no route, lane target, waypoint, course-progress input, scripted speed boost or random movement fallback. A separate game rule limits heading and motor velocity to 80° either side of the local clockwise track direction and prevents backward displacement during collisions. This rule constrains neural movement; it is not a biological brain response. Lap winding and physical finish-line crossings are used only for scoring. A completed lap is not guaranteed.

Odor enters measured ORN_DM1 and ORN_VA2 sensory neurons. The signed wind signal enters the LNOa relay pair; antenna mechanics and upstream wind receptors are bypassed. Plume shape, receptor response curves and injection strengths are engineered approximations. Calm disables wind input for comparison. Connections remain unchanged. This model has not been validated to reproduce biological odor seeking or upwind navigation. The food source is an environmental cue, not a finish target.

The wind/odor navigation literature includes a simplified partial-circuit model. Its 2024 addendum revises the attribution of some recorded responses from hΔC to potentially hΔK. We do not import its goal-heading controller or odor gate.

The server runs the neural simulation and shares the same race with every viewer. Practice-point bets and results are saved on the server. These results are not used to settle real assets.
